Rainstore3 is GETSCO’s primary underground detention and retention solution. The modular system uses preassembled, stackable units to create subsurface storage beneath parking areas, roads, landscapes, recreation areas, and other usable surfaces.

Its high internal void space provides substantial water-storage capacity without requiring the units to be filled with gravel. Modules can be arranged horizontally and vertically to fit a broad range of footprints, depths, and storage requirements.

Rainstore3 can be configured for temporary detention and controlled release, infiltration, retention and harvesting, or other project-specific water-management objectives.

Because the units arrive preassembled, installation can move from delivery to placement without the on-site assembly required by many modular systems.

RAINSTORE3 PERFORMANCE

Rainstore3 is designed to provide high-capacity underground storage while preserving flexibility in system layout. Individual units can be stacked and arranged to match the detention volume, excavation geometry, cover requirements, and site constraints.

The system can be installed beneath traffic-bearing or landscaped surfaces when the complete assembly, cover, subgrade, backfill, geosynthetics, and structural design are appropriate for the application.

Rainstore3 should be evaluated as part of a complete stormwater system that includes pretreatment, inlet and outlet structures, conveyance, geotextiles, geogrids where required, liners when applicable, overflow provisions, and access for inspection or maintenance.

HOW UNDERGROUND DETENTION WORKS

The storage modules are only one part of the system.

A successful underground detention installation depends on how water enters, moves through, exits, and is maintained within the complete assembly.

STEP 1

Capture and Pretreat

Stormwater is collected through surface drainage structures. Pretreatment may be needed to reduce sediment, trash, and debris entering the storage system.

STEP 2

Store Below Grade

Water enters the underground system and occupies the available void space during the storm event.

STEP 3

Release, Infiltrate, or Reuse

Stored water is released at an approved rate, infiltrated where conditions permit, retained for reuse, or managed through another designed outlet strategy.

Start with volume, footprint, depth, and loading.

No underground detention system should be selected from storage capacity alone.

The configuration must also account for excavation limits, available surface area, burial depth, traffic or structural loading, groundwater, soil conditions, inlet and outlet elevations, release-rate requirements, constructability, product availability, inspection, and long-term maintenance.
