Hardware Cloth

Hardware cloth is a hot-dipped galvanized welded mesh. Zinc coating provides maximum protection and extra durability. Hardware cloth is commonly used in sediment and erosion control applications such as rock inlet sediment traps.

Dewatering Bags

A dewatering bag is commonly used when the dewatering of a work area is necessary and construction of a stilling basin is not feasible. It is a bag made of a nonwoven geotextile lying on a bed of sediment control stone. As effluent from the work area is pumped into the special stilling basin, water is slowly filtered out through the walls of the bag, leaving sediment trapped inside.

Floating Turbidity Barriers

Floating turbidity barriers are designed to restrict the flow of sediment-laden stormwater runoff from a construction site, to keep it contained in a limited area and allow the sediment to settle out before being carried into joining watercourses. These barriers consist of a top flotation boom, an impervious fabric curtain extending downward under water, and a heavy galvanized steel chain sealed along the bottom to keep the curtain vertical in the water.

There are 3 types of floating turbidity barriers:

  • Type 1 – Light Duty
  • Type 2 – Medium Duty
  • Type 3 – Heavy Duty

Polyacrylamides (Flocculants)

Applied Polymer Systems (APS) polyacrylamides are specifically tailored for each soil type and water chemistry. These products help to alleviate erosion while encouraging the growth of vegetation.
